Curating Animation

Curating Animation introduces students to the art of curation for the moving image. Open to graduate students, the course will explore topics such as film screening curation and management, preservation of animation ephemera, multimedia exhibition design, publication layout, and animation research. Using the CalArts Film Library archive as a starting point and supplemented by guest lectures, site visits, readings, exercises, and discussions, the class will culminate in a student-curated screening, exhibition and/or publication.
