Description
In the Comics Workshop, students will develop a
narrative piece in comics form, culminating in a
self-published comic at the end of the semester.
This course will be similar in style to a creative
writing workshop, where individual work is shared
weekly for peer feedback and continually revised
and developed over the semester. It will also
cover historical and contemporary comics,
different formal techniques and approaches to the
form, and in-class drawing and writing exercises.
There will be in-class drawing and students should
be comfortable with and expect to work with
pencil, ink and paper.
Materials & Supplies Needed:
Bristol board pad, smooth or vellum, 14" x 17" =

Staedtler white eraser $1
Ruler $5
Pack of index cards $5
Pencils & Pens / Brush & Ink you like to work with
$30
Ream of blank scratch / printer paper $5
