Description

There are an infinite number of objects that can
be brought to life through stop motion. Anywhere
a camera is set up, images can be captured one
frame at a time transforming familiar settings
into something fantastic. By capturing the world
around them through animation, students will be
given new tools to creatively use in the future.
This class will introduce students to the
relative possibilities outside the studio,
animating elements in exterior locations. Using
pixilation and time-lapse photography, students
will experiment with animating physical elements
in their environment; animating the subtle
changes of a landscape or the frenetic movement
of humans. The weather, erosion, construction,
demolition, humans and animals will take on a
whole new dimension. The course will include
screenings, guest speakers, and field trips on
campus and possibly off campus.
