Description
The Animator's Hand: The Physical and the Virtual.
In our hyper-virtualized world, work with physical
materials and mark-making on physical surfaces
provides a welcome complement to digital means of
production. In this course, pulling from the
history of drawing and painting, we will develop
imagery and animation, highlighting a revived
sense of freedom in mark-making that physical
drawing provides. We will energetically consider
interrelations of form and intention, time and
content. From there, we will bring imagery into
the digital realm, emphasizing tools for graphics
and animation from the open-source community. The
course welcomes multifarious approaches and
sensibilities. Open to the Institute.
