Description
Through discussion, critique, technical workshops,
and labs, in this course we will develop an
understanding of the rich meaning-potential of
sound, made even more powerful in its relationship
to moving images. We will analyze the nature of
sound perception. We will analyze the function of
sound recorders and microphones. We will learn the
basics of sound editing and mixing using ProTools
as a dynamic and exciting audio tool. We will do
this all through lecture/discussions, workshops,
creative sound design assignments, readings,
technical training, and lab work.
