Bad Sound: Non-Traditional Ways to Create Sounds for Images Erasing notions of hi-delity sound, this class acknowledges that the right sound for a lm might be the result of an aleatory accident, ill-conceived experiment or unpolished performance. As such we will explore DIY and open source tools for making, recording and manipulating sound for image. Spanning both digital and analog domains students will engage to cannibalize free sound libraries, resuscitate (and reimagine) obsolete media, misuse recording equipment, improvise musical instruments, as well as lightly bend/hack circuits and software.
