Description
Close your eyes. Listen. Imagine a dark room, great acoustics and the best world wide sound art sounding around you. Let's feel how sound floods the room and guide us into an unexpected journey.
In this setup, how do you feel? What images come to your mind? What is your relationship with what you hear? And the most important question: how would you use this in your artistic creations?
Writing about our listening experience and answering this kind of questions enhances deep reflections about sound. A "diary" of every listening session will become our weekly routine.
Deep listening sessions in the Mix Theater and off-campus listening tours are some of the main methods of this course.
During these listening sessions, through lectures, we will also deeply reflect on what sound is, how we perceive it and its representation. You will be required to finish a piece (film, installation, art object, sound art) in order to put your listening experience and inspiration into practice.
