Description
The Post Production Student Technician Course is
taught in conjunction with the Production Student
Technician Course and the Sound Student Technician
Course. An objective of these courses is to expand
the knowledge-base of the student body in the more
technical aspects of filmmaking. Another objective
of this group of courses is to give students the
opportunity to assist others as a Student
Technician. By assisting others, students will
gain a hands-on understanding of contemporary
Production, Post Production, and Sound paradigms
and procedures. While successful completion of
these courses does qualify you to work as a
Student Technician in the respective area of the
course, it does not guarantee employment.
This course is a hands-on introduction to modern
post production workflows for filmmakers,
emphasizing how new technologies continually
impact the post production process. The powerful
creative options in digital acquisition, editing,
color grading, audio, CG, and SFX, through to the
final delivery will be examined and studied in
order to understand how this supports and affects
storytelling. Post production planning and
troubleshooting approaches, along with best
practices will be discussed throughout.
