Description
This course is designed for students to explore
cinematic language and the artistic possibilities
of the moving image. Students will be evaluated on
their mastery of core concepts of camera functions
and image construction - including lighting,
composition, focus and movement. The cameras used
for class will be the Sony A7S and Canon XC15,
however an emphasis on understanding universal
concepts of depth of focus, light metering, lens
choice and movement will be prioritized over
camera-specific knowledge. The aim of the class is
to understand how technical choices impact the
interpretation of images, and to exercise
intentional, artistic choices from behind the
camera.
