Course available by Permission of Instructor
only. Students will learn the basics of 16mm
film production and will gain access to Bolex and
Arriflex film cameras as well They will also
learn the basics of light readings, exposure, and
will be introduced to some of the hand-made
potentials of emulsion based filmmaking and
direct film techniques. The class will include
telecine and some phases of post-production. Each
student will shoot 100' of film and complete a
one-minute project with a digital finish. In this
way students will become familiar with analog
film equipment and techniques and how they are
integrated into the digital workflow. Students
will also collaborate on a class 16mm synch-sound
film which will also finish on digital. Some lab
time is required. Required of all PFV BFA 2s.
