Directorizing!

This is a hybrid studio/discussion class focusing
on experimental improvisation and non-traditional
directing methods to create persona based
performance. Some questions we will be asking:
How does a performer create a persona out of their
personal experience? What is the difference
between persona and character? How do we "direct"
ourselves as solo performers? What are ways to
access different points of performative
inspirational diamonds? How do we sift through the
unnecessary sludge so that the necessary may
speak? Is directing performing?

In class improvisation, assignments around
persona, and improvisation will be accompanied of
study of film/video and performance work as well
as artists who work in persona.
