Earthlings

UG - Undergraduate

This class will position a variety of earth inhabitants (both human and nonhuman & both living and "nonliving") as teachers & potential collaborators for artists. As a site based and hands-on class we will focus on one earthling and its extended ecosystem. We will review the work of artists, indigenous leaders, theorists, naturalists, conservationists, and environmental educators and we will partake in field trips, technical and material workshops, and group discussions. Over the course of the semester, students will be expected to work on an artwork exploring content related to class, which will be presented in a group exhibition.
