Description
What makes a plot twist good or bad? This two week long seminar will explore various different works that are either notorious for their stellar plot twists or left the audience lost and frustrated. Through this course, students will explore the art of foreshadowing and the craft of plot twists, examining how effective foreshadowing subtly prepares readers for surprises, while skillfully crafted plot twists create impactful moments of revelation. Through the use of short stories, film, and interactive media, students will learn to identify various methods of foreshadowing, from subtle hints to overt clues, and discuss how these techniques contribute to the ultimate plot twist! Students should be careful to avoid spoilers in order to get the full effect of this seminar.
