Description
The Teaching Practicum will allow students to work directly with either K-12 students or at the undergraduate level. Working with a teaching mentor/supervisor, students will have the ability to propose, create, and lead lessons geared toward the appropriate grade-level. The teaching practicum will have four options of supervised teaching experience.
(1) Teaching Assistantship at one CAP's school or community arts programs across Los Angeles County.
(2) Critical Studies or Mtier Teaching Assistantship working with CalArts faculty on campus (e.g., Art Pilots in the School of Art, or Teaching Artistry in the School of Music).
*(3) undergraduate courses on teaching offered through Critical Studies with extensive opportunities to teach within the course.
*(4) an opportunity to work with a faculty member to propose an undergraduate course during the Winter Session.
*Options 3 and 4 are offered only for students enrolled in the Master's Concentration in Arts Education program.
