Description

The syllabus is a standard outcome of education. In the context of graphic design education, this every day format has been utilized to bring innovative and revolutionary ideals into institutions of higher learning. This course examines the syllabus as both a practical teaching tool and as a document of pedagogical philosophy and methods. Through the review and analysis of a broad range of examples, students will examine how teaching philosophy is expressed in learning outcomes, classroom methods and project structure. The final project in the course will focus on the design of a proposed course syllabus and a representative or capstone project.
