Description
the World of WearableArt, WOW, is an annual wearable art competition held in New Zealand in late September. This special topics class is dedicated to the conceptual development and hands-on fabrication of wearable art based on specific themes for the 2025 WOW competition. The competition includes entries from 23 countries and is free to enter.

There are 6 themes which students can select from to focus their work. Aotearoa (Indigenous New Zealand culture), Avant-garde, Open, Air, Myths and Legends and Neon. Works explored in this class are aimed toward a level of execution acceptable for submission to the competition but that is not a requirement to take the class.
