Description
This course is an in-depth study into the physics
of stage machinery. The course will begin on the
theoretical side of things, studying the
calculations and formulas needed to calculate the
power and forces required to make something move.
The second half of this class will be the
practical application of these concepts and the
introduction of various types of mechanical
devices such as, actuators, speed reducers,
shafting, bearings and wheels, cable drums, screw
mechanisms, chain and brakes. The objective of
this class is to have a well-rounded understanding
of the various type of mechanical power equipment
used in stage machinery and how to apply this
understanding to real world applications.
