Description
A semester-long course for graduate students,
reviewing key topics in entertainment law
including contract, copyright, trademarks,
business structures, profit vs. non-profit models,
and theatrical productions. This course is
designed as a deeper exploration of legal issues
and contracts and their application in theater
organization and production. In the course
students will examine, evaluate and create
contracts for a number of producing scenarios
including engaging artists, commissioning work,
and co-productions. Through working in a hands on practice, students will gain knowledge of contract terminology and contractual rights.
