LIGHTING DESIGN 1: THE DESIGN PROCESS
Open to Theater Design and Production students
only and others with permission of instructor.
A course in developing creative lighting ideas for
performance. Students will develop a comprehensive
lighting approach for one play, including
conceiving and articulating the light idea,
analysis of dramaturgy and space, possibilities of
color and texture, planning and drawing the light
plot, and creating support paperwork. Basic
knowledge of Vectorworks and Lightwright is
required.
