Description

A one semester course open to all Theater School
students, BFA 3 and above, who have completed
Intro to Personal Filmmaking or its equivalent.
The course will offer students a chance to more
deeply explore the challenges and satisfactions of
artist filmmaking. This course will follow a
workshop structure, where students present their
in-progress films to be viewed, discussed and
critiqued. Students will need to be self
motivated and generate projects they are
passionate about. We will strive to create an
atmosphere of mutual support and inspiration in
which students can respond to and feed off each
others choices. Students will create and work to
complete several shorter films by semesters end.
These can be narrative, abstract or poetic or any
combination of various approaches. Students will
need to supply their own cameras and editing
software to make their films. Working with a
camera phone is completely acceptable.

Students are required to supply their own cameras
(a phone camera is acceptable), hard drives and
editing software. At the high end, student's
should expect to spend $300-$500 on hard drives
and supplemental camera equipment.
