Description
A beginning course, which explores the
intersection of fabric and the geometry of the
body. We will use a combination of draping and
flat patterning techniques, with an emphasis on
understanding how pattern pieces combine to create
3-dimensional geometric forms. In the process of
creating a torso sloper, the student will practice
fitting skills, learn construction and craft
techniques such as fabric manipulation. There may
be additional fees associated with this course for
supplies, books, or other materials. For more
specific costs please view the syllabus or speak
with the instructor.
Please note that the students will use their own
bodies as models for their torso sloper. In this
way, you will become familiar with your body shape
first before patterning for another's body.
