Description
Building a physical music collection is a process of discovery, choices and self determination. Those of us who choose to collect physical media, over time, come to understand the advantages and disadvantages to building a physical music collection. We will be discussing the strengths, aesthetics and challenges of the three main physical forms of music for sale people have traditionally used to build music collections - vinyl, CD's and cassettes. The class will strategize on practical ways to build and maintain (take care of) a physical music collection, play examples from the various mediums - vinyl, CD's and cassettes - and learn ways building a physical music collection can inform one's musicianship, and imagination.
