Description
This course will focus on the "moment to moment"
and improvisational aspects of Capoeira (an
Afro-Brazilian Martial Art). We will connect
physical movement and emotional expression through
the rich cultural heritage inherent to this unique
art form. Through gameplay, sequence work, and
physical conditioning, students will work to
achieve a working knowledge and movement
vocabulary allowing them to build there own unique
content. Students will learn to adapt there forms
and intentions to create relationships with
partners and explore there individuality, while
learning to read and respond to there partners own
unique personality. This course is designed to
guide actors to be in touch with there most primal
instincts, to use body language to create a
physical dialogue, and increase awareness and
perception of there immediate space.
