Counterpoint

The contrapuntal aspect present to some degree in
almost all styles of music will be explored
through listening, reading, analysis, and
composition. Of primary concern will be the
evolution of European counterpoint from is
origins through 16th century modal practice to
18th Century tonal practice and modern idioms.
