Description

This course will be looking at different methods
for working with sound in mixed reality
applications. Topics covered include C#
programming for working with Audio inside Unity,
spatialized audio in Virtual Reality and Augmented
Reality applications, working with reverb zones
and audio effects in Unity, and utilizing Unity's
existing audio tools to refine and customize audio
applications for mixed reality XR applications.

Students will learn the basics of C# scripting for
interacting with game objects and components
within the Unity Game Engine. By the end of the
course, students will be able to build or extend
customizable components for making audio
applications within Unity. By doing so they will
extend that knowledge to building sound based
virtual reality apps and Augmented Reality
applications using the in built Unity tools.
Students will also learn how middleware audio
softwares can work with Unity using Audiokinect
WWise. Intro to Programming(or some equivalent of
a beginner programming course) is required in
order to take this course. C# experience is not
required, but an understanding of functions and
object oriented programming concepts is required.
