Description
In this course students with little or no
recording experience will become familiar with
creative
ways their voice can be recorded in the comfort of
their own home. Together, the class will build
their own home studio to the level of their
choice. This may range from using only a smart
phone
to a complete home studio setup. Topics in this
course will include how to enhance phone
recordings; using creative vocal apps; how to
choose, setup, and use an audio interface;
microphone selection & placement; DAW workflow;
vocal recording and editing techniques
such as comping, double-tracking, harmonies,
automation, compression, EQ, reverb, and delay;
leading/joining remote recording collaborations;
video editing app basics; creating multi-vocal
recordings/multi-window recordings; creating vocal
loops using Ableton and/or looping pedals;
and other creative and compositional tools for the
vocalist.
