Writing Large Ensemble Music for Improvisors
Meetings which include lecture, discussion,
listening and viewing of composers and large
ensembles which use improvising as a focal point.
An occasional guest may be invited to clarify
events and happenings during a specific time
period.
While not a definitive overview and presented in a
non linear manner, a focus on selected
individuals, instrumentalists and geographic areas
that may have helped shaped a genre in Jazz or
Improvised Music Such as George Russell, Ornette
Coleman, Gil Evans, the ICP, and many, many others
