Performer-Composer Laboratory

What does it mean to integrate performance and
composition into one creative practice? How can we
make new and relevant work for ourselves and one
another? What might we need to know about each
other's voices, instruments, and practices? This
course offers foundational information in
composition for various voices and instruments,
ideas concerning form and process, and suggestions
for notation. We will use this information in
making new work for ourselves and for others in
the course, and will in turn perform the work of
our peers.

Course open to students in the performer-composer
specialization.
