Description
The ensemble will study, learn and perform Baltic
folk music, particularly vocal music from the
country of Latvia. Emphasis will be placed on the
aural traditions of regional vocal styles that
include recitation songs, antiphonal singing, and
part songs. Music will be performed in original
languages and dialects.
Instrumentalists are encouraged to participate,
particularly strings, winds and percussion as
these will be added in performance when possible
and appropriate. Open to the Institute.
