This is a lecture class that will focus on best
practices of teaching. Through a combination of
demo lessons, video clips, field observations,
independent research, and discussion,
participants will explore various pedagogical
approaches. Each of these approaches will be
engaged by students as they write papers, plan
and teach mini lessons, and critique each other's
work. In addition, the course will cover creating
syllabi, creating a curricular map, assessment,
reflection, project based learning, creating
engaging lectures, and brain research as it
connects to music learning.
This course focuses primarily on the pedagogical
theory, and teaching at the university level.
