Description
AR, VR, XR, QR: current technology enables many
concurrent, overlapping realities. How do we, as
artists, contend with these technologies and
their/our evolving relationship to space,
experience and relationships? We will draw on art
historical precendent to engender a critical
relationship to emerging technologies, consider
the aesthetic and performative aspects of various
reality-interfaces, and bring an experimental
sensibility to virtual apointing and sculpting
tools. The physical/spatial aspects (headsets,
chairs, controllers, rooms, bodies, voids,
ladders) of VR and AR will be considered as an
integral part of building experiences in expanded
realities. Analog media will be explored for its
potential to augment and deepen already
technologically expanded realities.
