Description
Implied Machine Aesthetics is a studio course that combines aesthetic experimentation with theoretical exploration, focusing on circuit bending, the intersection of mechanical engineering and choreography, and the dynamic themes of time, interactivity, and automation. Through hands-on projects using electronic components and Arduino, students will critically explore the temporality of objects, investigate technological breakdowns, and examine how mechanical systems reflect broader ethical and perceptual questions. According to Bruno Latour's philosophy, it is often when things break down that a seemingly inert system opens up, revealing that objects contain more objects. These numerous objects are composed of relations, histories, and contingencies.
