Abnormal Psychology is a branch of psychology that
deals with psychopathology and abnormal thoughts
and behaviors, often in a clinical context. The
term covers a broad range of disorders, from mood
and anxiety disorders to personality disorders to
psychosis.
This course offers a comprehensive and integrated
approach to the understanding abnormal psychology
and treatment. It is important to note that to
understand abnormal psychology it is essential to
first understand what it means when we say
"abnormal". The course includes a survey of the
different categories of mental disorders including
biological, psychological, and social/cultural
determinants as well as psychosocial and
pharmacological interventions.
