Description
Human Sexuality is a comprehensive and integrated
approach to the science of human sexuality. This
course is an evaluation of scientific knowledge
regarding sexual behaviors and attitudes in
contemporary society and includes the
physiological basis of sexual function and
dysfunction.
During this course students will become fluent in
the academic language and theories of human
sexuality such as sexual anatomy, response cycle,
reproduction, contraception, sexually transmitted
infections, intimacy and others. Students will
learn to read and evaluate scientific articles and
findings in human sexuality. Students will be
introduced to the multifaceted aspects of this
field which will help increase their understanding
of how human sexuality is influenced by and
influences other parts of our lives. These
topics will help students understand the
biological, psychological, social, and cultural
influences on their sexual feelings,
attitudes/values and behaviors.
