Speculative Fiction Workshop: Fantasty, Science
Fiction and Speculative Fiction Workshop
This workshop focusses on Speculative Fiction and
its genre subcategories: fantasy, science fiction,
the weird, and horror: work, in short, that works
under a different premise than realism. It is for
both novelists and short story writers. It is a
primary a workshop course, with each student
turning in three stories or three excerpts of
short fiction. It assumes some familiarity with
fantastical fiction, though we will also read and
discuss such fiction in the course of the class,
as well as looking at theories of fantastical
fiction.
