Description
This workshop will approach exhibition design from
the perspective of the post-COVID art world. We
will look at the various ways exhibitions are
designed for both museums and galleries as well as
in the virtual spaces that pre-existed COVID but
have since exploded into new virtual venues and
tools. We will look at both the history of
exhibition design as well as the strategies and
methodologies artists, curators and architects
have developed in the face of the opportunities
and constraints provided by the situation.
Students will use softwares and technical skills
they will need, as well as the conceptual skills
required for successful exhibition design. As a
final project, students will design their own
exhibition using SketchUp or Art Steps, or in a
physical model.
