Building a Book

"Building a Book" will explore how meaning is
built through form and structure of the photo
book. We will approach the book medium through a
historic and contemporary lens while examining
artists who use the medium. This class will
include conversations around editing and
sequencing specific to the book form as well as
learning to layout and design a book using Adobe
InDesign. We will also cover book binding
techniques. Throughout the term students will
develop their own project using the medium of the
book as a final project.
