Description
This reading and discussion seminar will offer a
survey of critical inquiries within the field of
photography and media-based practices. Considering
the shifting roles of our mediums within our
current political and cultural landscape, we will
start with an initial range of historical and
theoretical texts that we consider relevant today.
The goal of the seminar is to collaboratively
create a photography and media syllabus for us to
use in the future. Students are expected to read,
participate in class discussions, and actively
work on the question of constructing a
photo-reader.
