Description
Think Big is a semester-long course that provides
students with large-scale analog printing using
traditional darkroom techniques. It is designed to
expand students' knowledge and skills in analog
photographic printing. The goal of this course is
to understand analog image processing beyond the
fundamental or introductory level and take the
students through the entire process from film
processing, test prints making, and producing
exhibition quality final prints. Emphasis is
placed on building and employing practical
darkroom processing techniques, and understanding
how to create a better analog workflow from
beginning to end. Students will work from their
own images in class and should expect to produce
one to two large-format silver-gelatin or C41
prints by the end of the course. There is a $75
course fee, which provides most materials needed
to fulfill requirements, however students should
be prepared to potentially purchase additional
materials if their proposed project requires it. A
$50 lab deposit is also required for use of the
lab within and outside of class time.
