Description
This course offers students a continued
exploration of video and sound production in a
contemporary art context. Students will continue
to work with Adobe PremierePro and ProTools, as
well as learn how to create and present video
installations with video projectors, monitors,
screens, and speakers. Working with digital high
definition cameras, we will explore advanced
movement techniques for camera, as well as what
itTs like to work with a small crew. Learning will
be based on students' own moving image
experiments, with the goal of a finished project
at the end. Students can bring existing projects
or develop new ones to work with along the way.
The course will screen historical and contemporary
video works, read relevant essays, and visit
exhibitions that will expand students' visual
literacy in video art, experimental documentary,
and sound art.
