Course open to MFA1 Art Program students only.
This critique class is designed for incoming
MFA-1 students in the Art Program. In class, we
will view and discuss each other's work, and
begin to develop a discourse specific to the
concerns of the group. One result is the
exchange of ideas between peers in the Program is
enriched and deepened. Future collaborations and
ongoing debates are facilitated. An essential
introduction to the ongoing critical
conversations at CalArts, this class is as near
as we get to a 'required course'.
Requirements: attend class, show work, and
participate actively. ADMISSION GUARANTEED TO
MFA-1 ART PROGRAM.
