Description

This class will explore the idea of multiple
narratives being told at once, while all holding
their own identity and equal ground, but yet
becoming one. Students will contemplate how each
narrative element relates to one another, both in
harmony and disharmony. Plus, they will become
proficient in paying special attention to the
stories that arise from the space in between
elements. And students will learn to be wary of
narratives that dominate and invisibilize other
narratives, along with how to subvert this
domination. They will also acquire multifaceted
and spherical storytelling skills in various
mediums, including writing and 360° VR video
making. In addition to learning how to craft these
multifaceted narratives, they will be encouraged
to grapple with and account for the agency of a
viewer/reader who is no longer trapped by a
limited gaze. Due to the limited amount of 360° VR
cameras, this class will be strictly limited to 9
students.
