Description

Sensing Crit: Do U Love What U Feel? is a critique course that provides an opportunity to share work for critical feedback up to three times over the course of the semester. This course offers multiple in-depth critique approaches, including somatic, practice-based, and research methodologies. We experiment with looking and sensing through material investigation while deepening our practices via communal reading, somatic awareness, reading and writing. Sensing Crit: Do U Love What U Feel? develops engagement via discursive relationships built upon artists' work and works-in-process while highlighting the artist-to-artist relationship. This supportive approach offers critical witnessing, empathetic feedback, and somatic engagement to deepen our practices of seeing and feeling through material, semiotic, physical and breathwork methodologies. Recommended for students experimenting across mediums (inter- & cross-disciplinary) *and* metier-specific students who seek to expand their approach while challenging themselves via collective imaginaries, which necessitate involving diverse paths, questions, and experimentation.
