Description

Through engaging in various creative forms,
including drawing, photography, performance, video
production, and sonic exploration, students will
critically analyze and reimagine the ancient past,
challenge cultural norms, and cultivate a sense of
community through collective experiences.
This course explores the rich cultural heritage of
the ancient Americas, focusing on civilizations
such as the Inca Empire, Aztec society, indigenous
communities from North America and from the Amazon
Rainforest. Students will explore how these
cultures utilized art as a means to communicate
with the divine, document their histories, and
stimulate connections within their communities.
By actively participating in activities such as
observing celestial patterns, making videos that
capture concepts like "oneiric heritage," and
exploring the sonic realm through recording and
audio playback, students will cultivate approaches
to their own artistic expression.
Additionally, they will develop a critical mindset
to analyze cultural norms and acquire the capacity
to individual and community awareness through
their own artistic endeavors.
