Claylab - Handbuilding

This workshop will be a five week intensive
exploration into constructing sculptures and
objects with clay. Topics covered will include
handbuilding, coiling, slab forming, firing, and
glazing. We will work on one project for the
duration of the course. Students are encouraged to
apply clay and ceramic into other areas of their
practice and to experiment with building
techniques and surface treatments. Students will
gain an understanding of the processes for
building with clay and learn material specific
skills for interpreting ideas and drafts into
three dimensional sculptures. There is a $50.00
course fee for this class which includes one box
of clay and the necessary hand tools.
