Description

In the words of a former student, theory is the thinking that advances the discipline. Theory works hand-in-hand with design history, criticism, and practice to support the realization of relevant and meaningful design work that challenges, plays with, or advances what things get made and what they look like. Through required readings, conversation, and research, students will engage various contemporary debates that potentially impact our ideas, practice, and lives. These include such themes as technology, the environment, culture, society, politics, and many others. Please note that this is not a studio class.
