This course may be open to students at other year
levels, and in other Schools, by Permission of
Instructor.
This slide/lecture course covers the development
of graphic design in the context of the social
and cultural significance of other design
movements, from the Industrial Revolution to the
present. Class discussion based on the slides
and assigned readings will focus on the meaning
or significance of theory and practice,
individual works, and the larger role of the
designer in today's consumer culture.
