Description
The 21st century protest movement has been the
largest and most widespread in planetary history.
Yet the movement has also been criticized for its
failures and even for leading to the opposite of
what it wanted- a massive shift to the right in
global politics. How has music been involved? How
can music learn from its blind spots, its
failures, its vulnerability to capitalist and
counterinsurgent capture? How can music support
protest, resistance, revolution while at the same
time providing resilience, steadfastness and deep
caring? How can music be deployed to both "burn
shit down" and to create the world we want to see?
