Description
Do you love seeing the Graphic Design Program's Visiting Designers but wish you could delve deeper AND get credit for attending the lectures and presentations? This class will achieve that!
Each student (or possibly several students) will be assigned at least one Visiting Designer for which they'll do the following:
Before each presentation: Research the person's work; make a poster; introduce the presenter.
After each presentation: Produce a (critical) review of the presentation or lecture or journalistic coverage. Whichever form is chosen, the piece should take a visual form. It can be "straight" writing; a visual essay; a critical fiction; or visual journalism.
The outcome will be a zine that compiles all the writing and documents the Series.
All students will be required to attend the Visiting Designer presentations and engage the visitor by asking questions and/or engaging conversation.
