Description
This class is designed for individuals of all backgrounds, whether or not you have formal dance training. It focuses on using the body and voice to tell stories, express emotions, and explore physicality in new ways. Inspired by improvisational techniques from renowned Israeli dance companies like Batsheva and Vertigo, as well as immersive acting practices from "Sleep No More" (States of Tension), the course invites participants to dive into movement as a form of self-expression and creativity.
Throughout the course, participants will:
? Learn how to engage different parts of the body--bones, muscles, and skin
to create a variety of movement qualities
? Explore different levels of eye contact and gaze to enhance presence and
connection
? Use the voice alongside movement to communicate emotions and ideas
? Tap into imagery to guide and inspire their movements
? Practice making spontaneous creative choices that reflect their personal expression.
This class is ideal for anyone interested in exploring movement, connecting mind and body, and unlocking their creative potential through physical storytelling. No dance experience is required--just a willingness to move and discover.
